Polina Kouklina was born in 1986 in Moscow. Her modeling career began - like so often, through the initiative of her best friend. The two girls went together to the Slava Zaitsev fashion show in Moscow, hoping that Polina's friend would be discovered there. But when they arrived to the show two hours late, Polina herself was approached by a Russian model scout. Shortly after, the London modeling agency Take 2 took Polina under contract, soon following testshoots and her first editorials. After her graduation Polina began to work as a full-time model, since then there's been a great demand for the freckled face with the deep green eyes.

In the season Fall/ Winter 2004 she impressed the whole fashion industry with her grace and elegance. But despite the fast success, Polina remains with her feet on the ground. For her every job is a new challenge and every journey a new adventure. The combination of ethereal beauty and remarkable intelligence makes her irresistible for the photographer Ben Hassett.
